The Pennsylvania Veterinary Foundation (PVF), d/b/a Animal Care PA, was established in 1983, and serves as the charitable arm of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association but functions as an independent Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation and is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization. The mission of Animal Care PA is to help caring people help animals by bridging the gap through our animal welfare initiatives that FEED and CARE for animals in need, and EDUCATE pet owners and veterinary students of the Commonwealth.

Proceeds benefit Animal Care PA’s 3 programs: FEED, CARE, EDUCATE.  The FEED program, Henry’s Helping Paws, provides pet food for animals owned by senior citizens who struggle financially to provide for their beloved pets.  The CARE program, The Last Chance, helps pay for veterinary care needed for animals owned or unowned, when funds otherwise are not available and are needed for life-saving efforts.  The EDUCATE program provides scholarships to veterinary and veterinary technology students who demonstrate financial need and leadership skills.
